We are committed to supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care and Women's Aid through our sales and events because we simply believe in what they do!
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides free high quality nursing to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families.
The cost of funding a Marie Curie Nurse for one hour is £20.00
Cancer is the UK’s biggest killer - each year 155,000 people die of cancer, that is one in four of all cancer patients. Marie Curie Cancer Care is there for some of them, there for their families and there for the community.
Research shows that 64% of people would choose to die at home if they had a terminal illness. Statistics show that only 25% of cancer patients do so. Marie Curie Cancer Care cares for half of all those who die at home (around 25,000 people every year).
Their nurses do the wonderful job of going into patient’s homes to provide hands-on nursing care and emotional support for the whole family. Moreover, they do all of this for FREE and that's why we want to support them!
Women's Aid is the national domestic violence charity that helps up to 250,000 women and children every year.
They work to end violence against women and children, and support over 500 domestic and sexual violence services across the country.
